Minister Petrovska pays tribute to Karpalak victims on anniversary 
Skopje, 8 August 2022 (MIA) – We’ve been mourning Sasho Kitanoski, Nane Naumoski, Branko Sekuloski, Marko Despotoski, Erdovan Shabanoski, Ljube Grujoski, Darko Veljanoski, Vebi Rushitoski, Goran Minoski and Pece Sekulovski, the members of the Army’s reserves that were ambushed near Karpalak in the armed conflict that took place in 2001, Minister of Defense Slavjanka Petrovska says Monday. “Every time we look to the future, we mustn’t forget the victims of the past so that we appreciate what we have today. There is no peace and freedom without mutual respect and remembrance. In honor of the fallen Sasho, Nane, Branko, Marko, Erdovan, Ljube, Darko, Vebi, Goran and Pece, who gave their lives and went out as heroes, binding us to respect their ideals and beliefs. Glory to them!” Petrovska says in a Facebook post. On August 8, 2001, an Army convoy was ambushed near the village of Karpalak. Ten soldiers, all army reservists, were killed in the incident. dk/ba/
