Minister Perinski meets head of EBRD’s Skopje Office, Türkmenoğlu

Skopje, 16 July 2024 (MIA) – Minister of Local Self-Government Zlatko Perinski held a meeting Tuesday with the head of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) Office in the country, Fatih Türkmenoğlu, during which they discussed the EBRD’s priorities in the country, i.e., the assistance for numerous projects in various sectors, with the goal of improving the country’s competitiveness, green transition, as well as the integration process, both in the regional and global markets.

“Minister Perinski voice gratitude to Türkmenoğlu over the EBRD’s three-decade-long partnership with Macedonia, as well as for EBRD as one of the largest supporters of our country, whose support and investments provide an enormous contribution to the economic and social development of municipalities,” the Ministry of Local Self-Government said in a press release.

Especially significant, according to the Ministry, are the benefits of the investments in projects for renewable sources of energy, energy efficiency, transport infrastructure, energy and gasification, as well as municipal infrastructure.

“The investment activities of various partners are of great importance for the current and future development of the public and private sector. The EBRD’s Office in Skopje, as an international institution, is a significant strategic partner of Macedonia, which has invested over EUR 2.6 billion in more than 180 projects since 1993,” the Ministry said.
