Skopje, 24 March 2023 (MIA) - Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy Ljupcho Nikolovski and Payment Agency director Nikica Bachovski are paying a two-day visit to Croatia that included a meeting with counterparts Marija Vučković and Antun Vujić focusing on increase of bilateral trade exchange and efficient use of European funds for new investments in agriculture and rural development.
Minister Vučković transferred Croatia's experiences in the transformation of the public forest management enterprise into a state-owned company and offered support through joint teams that would work on meeting the EU requirements within the accession negotiations, the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Water Economy said in a press release.
It adds that Croatia's experience in the agri-sector would be of great help in the fields of agriculture and rural development, food safety, veterinary and phytosanitary policy, fisheries and aquaculture.
Ministers Vučković and Nikolovski opened the 24th Bjelovar Spring Agriculture Fair, with North Macedonia being a partner-country for the first time on record. The event presents over 400 exhibitors from 11 countries, including six from North Macedonia.
In the fair's opening remarks, Minister Nikolovski urged visitors to visit the Macedonian stand and taste the Macedonian brands.
"I use this opportunity to invite you all to visit the Macedonian area and feel the energy and sun of my country by tasting wines, delicatessen, dried vegetable, ajvar and red pepper 'bukovka', thus enticing you to visit North Macedonia and enjoy its beauties," noted Nikolovski.
