Minister Mucunski meets UK Trade Commissioner Barton 

Skopje, 29 November 2024 (MIA) - Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade Timcho Mucunski held a meeting Friday with the United Kingdom’s Trade Commissioner for Europe, Chris Barton, during which they exchanged views and suggestions on boosting trade cooperation between the two countries and discussed opportunities for greater integration of the Republic of North Macedonia within regional and global trade networks, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade said in a press release.  

According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Mucunski introduced Barton to the economic priorities of the Government of the Republic of North Macedonia and voiced satisfaction with the continued growth of trade with the United Kingdom. He noted the existence of firm foundations for additional growth in the future and underscored the importance of strengthening cooperation in the field of investments.

Commissioner Barton highlighted the United Kingdom’s interest in supporting British investments in the country and the continuation of the development of economic relations through the improvement of the corporate environment. 

“Interlocutors spoke about the enhancement and expansion of cooperation in line with the Agreement on Partnership, Trade and Cooperation between the two countries, as well as other potential areas for cooperation, especially the development of new technologies, renewable sources of energy, infrastructure, and the exchange of good practices in the field of digital and environmental transformation,” the Ministry said.
