Skopje, 10 February 2025 (MIA) - As part of his working visit to Australia, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Timcho Mucunski, met with the Speaker of the New South Wales Legislative Assembly, Greg Piper, Deputy Speaker, Sonia Hornery, and MP Nathan Hagarty.

Talks focused on the excellent bilateral relations between the two countries, possibilities to deepen relations, as well as the importance of parliamentary democracy and institutional cooperation, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade said in a press release.

Minister Mucunski welcomed an initiative allowing the Macedonian language to be part of the education system, expressing support to further promote it.  

“Particular emphasis was also placed on the significant role of the Macedonian diaspora as a key link between the two friendly countries. Both sides agreed that the Macedonian community in Australia makes an important contribution to social and cultural life, and its dedication to preserving national identity is an example of successful integration and mutual respect,” reads the press release.
