Skopje, 24 September 2024 (MIA) - Defense Minister Vlado Misajlovski and Army Chief of Staff, Major-General Sashko Lafchiski, are heading the Macedonian delegation to a United States visit, for the annual bilateral defense consultations.

During the visit, Minister Misajlovski is scheduled to meet with senior officials from the Pentagon and the U.S. Armed Forces, the Ministry of Defense said in a press release.

The bilateral consultations aim to enhance the allied defense cooperation, which has seen continued programmes in support of the defense reforms and modernization of the Macedonian Army, joint training and exercises.

Since 1996, the United States has been a strategic partner that supports the development of the Army's capacities, reads the press release.
