Minchev: SEBCoVE project to improve public sector standards

Skopje, 27 August 2024 (MIA) — Minister of Public Administration Goran Minchev took part in a panel on green and digital transition held in Star Dojran as part of the EU-supported Smart Electricity for Buildings – Centers of Vocational Excellence (SEBCoVE) project implemented by the Center for Development of the Southeast Planning Region, the Macedonian Chamber of Commerce Union and Emkice Knowledge Innovation Center.

"For the Ministry of Public Administration, the SEBCoVE project implementation presents an opportunity to improve standards in the public sector by integrating new, advanced competences in the training and education of workers. This will result in compliance with the labor market requirements, supporting the digital and green transition," Minister Minchev said.

Minchev also said the Ministry of Public Administration had an important role in this process by providing infrastructure and policies supporting the successful implementation of related projects.

"One of our priorities is to fully support the process of education and training public administration staff. Training our employees is crucial to successfully managing new digital tools and solutions. We will focus on organizing quality and effective trainings preparing employees in the public sector for any challenges arising in the digital age," the public administration minister said.

He said another priority was to create partnerships with the international non-governmental, civil sector as well as with the academic community to implement projects contributing to growth, development and new opportunities.

"Investing in the digital and green transition is not only an investment in technology but also an investment in our country's citizens' future," Minchev said. mr/
