Minchev – Rokas: Firm commitment to consistent and transparent implementation of public administration reform laws

Skopje, 15 July 2025 (MIA) – EU Ambassador Michalis Rokas during Tuesday’s meeting with the Minister of Public Administration Goran Minchev welcomed the adoption of the reform laws on public administration as a positive and encouraging signal of the country’s commitment to European standards in public administration. He also expressed support for the new reform cycle, underscoring the importance of consistent and transparent implementation in line with the principles of good governance.
The Ministry of Public Administration said in a press release that the meeting between Minister Minchev and Ambassador Rokas focused on the importance of the recently adopted key reform laws, the law on administrative servants, the law on public sector employees, the law on professional development and training of administrative servants, and the law on inspection supervision. These laws were highlighted as the foundation for building a fair, professional, and depoliticized public administration. The meeting also emphasized the next steps toward consistent and effective implementation of the laws through a transparent process and with strong political and institutional commitment.
Minister Minchev briefed Ambassador Rokas on the preparation of a new set of reform laws which, as stated in the press release, will further enhance and complete the process of strategic transformation of the public administration. The package includes the draft law on the salary system, the draft law on senior management service, and the law on the organization and operation of the state administration bodies.
