Sofia, 27 April 2023 (MIA) - Sofia and Skopje will not jointly observe the 120th anniversary from the death of Goce Delchev on May 4, said Bulgarian Foreign Minister Nikolay Milkov on Thursday.
Milkov told a press conference that Bulgaria and North Macedonia have not reached an agreement over joint observances although such practice had taken place in previous years.
"We will organize high-level events in the town of Goce Delchev. North Macedonia's representatives are welcome," said Milkov.
He warned Bulgarian citizens, who might want to visit Delchev's grave in Skopje, they could face the same problems as during February's observance of the revolutionary's 151st birth anniversary.
The Bulgarian FM said he is yet to see any steps taken by Skopje to implement the so-called French proposal.
"Our attempts to say how the changes should be made to incorporate Bulgarians in North Macedonia's Constitution were met by accusations of interfering in their domestic affairs," said Milkov.
