Migrant workers donate 29 oxygen ventilators to hometowns
Gostivar, 26 August 2021 (MIA) – A group of emigrants and their families from the Gostivar villages Chegrane, Forino and Chajle who work in Switzerland have purchased and sent back to Gostivar 29 oxygen ventilators for Covid-19 patients.
Chajle local self-government unit head Sinan Elezi expressed his gratitude for the donation and said it was timely, given that this part of the country has been hit hard with the fourth wave of the pandemic.
“One of these machines will be given to the Chajle village hospital, and the other three will be at the self-government unit and delivered where they need to be,” Elezi said.
The portable oxygen ventilators will be also taken to healthcare institutions in Forino and Chegrane.
On Wednesday, a migrant worker from the neighboring village Vranjovce, donated food packages for 15 Chajle families under financial strain due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Since the outbreak of the pandemic, the local community of Chajle, in cooperation with the diaspora, has handed out over a thousand packages of food and funds to socially vulnerable families. dk/mr/
