Mickoski: We'll be in group of countries with most favorable US import conditions

Skopje, 7 July 2025 (MIA) -- Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski told a press conference Monday that the United States may implement favorable import requirements for Macedonian export products.

"We talked to the USA about potential reduction of customs duties," Mickoski said.

"I believe we will be in the group of countries who will have the most favorable conditions to export to the US market," he said.

US President Donald Trump said Sunday the US would deliver letters to its trade partners outlining new deals and tariffs from midday Monday.

In April, Trump set a baseline levy of 10% on imports from almost all trading partners, followed by a wave of higher tariffs, based on trade deficits, on some countries.

He then paused these so-called reciprocal tariffs on most countries for 90 days, which is set to expire on July 9. mr/
