Skopje, 27 February 2025 (MIA) - The National Bank will release on Friday the 2024 investment figures with an exceptional, huge, historic realization since May, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski told Thursday's Q&A session in Parliament, adding that we will be the country with the highest number of foreign investments per capita in the region.
This year, he noted, we have no less than 15 investments, but the number is growing.
"You will witness the announcement of cornerstone laying and launch of production of some of the direct foreign investments. But let's not underestimate the domestic investments that will also start, using the Hungarian loan," Mickoski said.
As regards the Turkish "Kazanci Holding", the PM said the company was not the only one interested in entering the country when it comes to construction of co-generation plants, but there are several others as well.
""Kazanci Holding" is just one of several companies that have expressed interest in investing. The investments that we are negotiating are based exclusively on market conditions: the electricity that will be produced will be sold on the free market, the price of heating energy will be regulated by a decision of the Regulatory Commission and the resource is at the expense of the investor. This Government will not say who is to build it or why ... and that is what distinguishes us from our predecessors," Mickoski pointed out.
According to him, it will take time to experience the effects of cleaner air from the capacities that "Kazanci Holding" plans to build.
"Miracles are impossible, I regret that nothing has been done so far, in terms of providing citizens with energy for heating their homes that will be environmentally friendly," Micksoki noted.
VMRO-DPMNE MP Beti Stamenkoska Trajkoska put the two questions to the PM.
