Skopje, 9 February 2025 (MIA) - I am an optimist that the VMRO-DPMNE-led coalition will be the absolute winner at the local elections set to take place in October, said Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski while citing the party's surveys that show a 4:1 ratio compared to the second-ranked party.

"I am an optimist that the VMRO-DPMNE-led coalition will be the absolute winner, based on the surveys we are conducting twice or three times a month. The most recent survey showed that VMRO-DPMNE's rating exceeded 30 percent, while the second-ranked party stood at 6.8 percent. Therefore, the ratio used to be 3:1 and has now reached 4:1. I expect this trend to rise and then stabilize because the capacity of voters will have been exhausted," PM Mickoski told reporters on Sunday.

Regarding the names of potential candidates for mayors, he said an internal procedure within the party is ongoing, noting that the opinions of members and citizens will be taken into consideration, resulting in the names of the candidates.
