Mickoski to meet Orbán as bilateral summit resumes in Budapest

Budapest, 4 March 2025 (MIA) - Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski is set to meet with Hungarian Prime Minister Viktor Orbán on Tuesday as part of the Hungarian – Macedonian government summit in Budapest.

According to the Government, the agenda includes a tête-à-tête meeting between Mickoski and Orbán, as well as bilateral meetings between ministers of the two governments, followed by a joint session between the two governments.

After the intergovernmental session, the two prime ministers will hold a joint press conference.

The bilateral summit began in Budapest on Monday with a meeting between the foreign ministers of North Macedonia and Hungary, Timcho Mucunski and Péter Szijjártó. The two ministers signed an Action Plan on exchange of expertise by the Hungarian Diplomatic Academy on mutually agreed EU integration topics.

This is a second joint session between the governments of the two countries. Prime Ministers Mickoski and Orbán led the government delegations at a joint intergovernmental session held in September last year in Ohrid, which reaffirmed the strategic alliance between the two countries as well as Hungary's strong support for North Macedonia's European integration.
