Mickoski: Reaffirming commitment to promoting peace, stability, rule of international law

Washington, 10 July 2024 (MIA) – For us as a small nation, it is important to make the most significant decisions at this gathering that will shape the future of humanity in the coming decades, to which we will also make our contribution, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said Wednesday ahead of the working session on day two of the NATO Summit in Washington.

"As a country, we are ready to add our contribution to everything that represents value. We are here together with our allies to reaffirm our commitment, as we have so far and as we will continue in the future, to promoting peace, stability and the rule of international law," Mickoski pointed out.

The PM stressed that "the Macedonian Government wants to stand side by side with our allies and reaffirm the libertarian spirit of the Macedonian people and the Macedonian citizens".

"We remain committed to fulfilling our obligations, i.e. the target of at least 2% of GDP to be invested in the modernization of our Army, something that is very important, because only in this way will we keep pace with modern steps and keep pace with the largest world defence Alliance that has ever existed," Mickoski added.

He also expressed satisfaction that, together with the other leaders of the NATO member countries, he is attending the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of what he said was the largest defence Alliance in world history.

Mickoski heads the Macedonian delegation at the NATO Summit, which also includes the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, Timcho Mucunski, the Minister of Defence, Vlado Misajlovski, and the Minister of Interior, Panche Toshkovski.
