Karbinci, 2 October 2025 (MIA) - VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski addressed Thursday a rally in the town of Karbinci, within the campaign for the local elections, congratulating incumbent mayor Viktor Paunov for his work over the past four years.

"I believe we should dedicate more attention to demography, because streets and schools are useless if young people do not get married and have large families," said Mickoski.

In this regard, he presented an idea of building a settlement for young couples, with lots sold at EUR 1 per m2.

"In this way, when they get married, they will already have a house and think about having more children. I believe this should be a priority and the Government will provide support within its jurisdiction," said Mickoski.

Mayor Viktor Paunov, who is running for a second term, said these elections will decide if the municipality continues to develop or "goes back to the dark past".

He said a new chapter begins, one of commitment, continuity of changes, with many new projects and a programme that guarantees Karbinci would serve as a model municipality in the country's east.
