Mickoski: Over 45,000 students got electronic device vouchers, take-up rate around 99 percent

Skopje, 31 January 2026 (MIA) - Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said Saturday that over 45,000 undergraduate students got their Mden 15,300 (EUR 250) voucher for purchasing an electronic device. He noted that the take-up rate is around 99 percent.

Students up to 29 years of age, enrolled in the 2025/2026 academic year for undergraduate studies at state or private universities, could apply for EUR 250 voucher from November to December.

"Approximately 45,000 - 45,600 vouchers have been claimed. The take-up rate is around 99 percent. Over the past 20 months the Government has regulated all relations with all structures in society whose needs the Government should meet – students' scholarships have been increased, student dormitories are being renovated, Mden 15,300 are being provided for electronic devices. Is that enough? No. More may be needed, but this is all we can do at the moment. Even this was missing before. For everyone, without limiting whether they are students at state or private universities. Pensions have increased linearly, Mden 7,000 due in April, something that has not been possible before," Mickoski said after Saturday's opening of renovated Kiril Pejchinovikj High School in Tetovo.

The PM pointed out that the Government's communication with all target groups is at a high level and no Government before has delivered this much.

"We truly have relations that have never been at such a high level before, and no Government before has delivered this much. This Government has done it in just 20 months. Is it enough? No. Do we need more? We do need more. I agree, we always need more. But is it better than before? I can say that it is significantly better," Mickoski said.
