Skopje, 14 October 2023 (MIA) – VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski said Prime Minister Dimitar Kovachevski is playing politics by being optimistic over the constitutional amendments. He said the amendments won’t be adopted in the future either, unless circumstances change.
“There won’t be constitutional amendments under Bulgarian dictate in the future either, when VMRO-DPMNE is the government, unless the circumstances change, unless we see some kind of progress, because right now everything is fully focused on the Bulgarian demands,” said Mickoski in answer to journalist’s questions on Saturday.
According to Mickoski, by still leaving room and being optimistic over securing a two-thirds majority in Parliament the Prime Minister is just playing politics.
“For me, his optimism is playing politics, because in that way he thinks he will keep those few people who have remained in SDSM’s party headquarters mobilized, by pretending the amendments are imminent,” said Mickoski.
Mickoski said VMRO-DPMNE finds it acceptable to agree on election dates in Parliament.
He asked Kovachevski to name people who would be ready to talk about dates for the presidential and parliamentary elections because, he added, “the Prime Minister is acting cowardly because he keeps running away from elections, leaders’ meetings, and duels.”
