Mickoski: New gov't coalition united over four pillars

Skopje, 20 June 2024 (MIA) – VMRO-DPMNE leader and PM-designate Hristijan Mickoski said he expected lawmakers to have constructive debate at the Parliament session, scheduled this weekend for the election of the new government.

The new government coalition will be comprised of VMRO-DPMNE, the Worth It coalition and the party ZNAM.

According to him, the new government coalition has four primary pillars.

“The first one is the most important – the fight against crime and corruption, the second pillar is improvement of the citizens’ standards entirely, the third one is acceleration of the EU integration process of Macedonia and the fourth is equal development,” stated Mickoski on Thursday.

The ambition of the new government is to be the most successful cabinet in the three decades of Macedonia being an independent state, he pledged.

“I’m convinced it will function successfully, beautiful days are coming for the Macedonian citizens, for Macedonians, Albanians, Romas and Turks, the Vlachs and Bosniaks in the country. We will not separate the citizens according to their political affiliation, or national, religious background,” said Mickoski.

Parliament Speaker Afrim Gashi scheduled the session for the election of the new government on Saturday at 11 am and it should end by midnight on Sunday at the latest.
