Mickoski, Mexhiti and EIB Office head Gabriel meet mayors to discuss EUR 50 million assistance 

Skopje, 8 September 2024 (MIA) - Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski, the head of the Office of the European Investment Bank in the country, Björn Gabriel, and First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Environment and Physical Planning Izet Mexhiti held an informative meeting Friday with 58 mayors over EUR 50 million secured through the EIB which are expected to be granted to municipalities by the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning. 

According to the Government, the goal of the meeting was to strengthen and improve the efficiency and coordination in the efforts to use the funds aimed for improving water infrastructure in the municipalities. The funds have been secured through the European Investment Bank and will be granted to municipalities by the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning as non-refundable funds. 

“Today we sent a strong and clear message that our Government is sincerely committed to strengthening municipalities nationwide,” the Government said.
