Mickoski meets Plenković, Milatović and Bećirović: Countries in region need economic, energy, infrastructure connection

Skopje, 18 July 2024 (MIA) - As part of the European Political Community (EPC) Summit in London on Thursday, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski met with Croatian counterpart Andrej Plenković, Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović and member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina Denis Bećirović, underscoring that the countries in the region need economic, energy and infrastructure connection, regarding which building a strong regional cooperation is key.

"As part of the European Political Community (EPC) Summit in London, I held friendly talks with the Prime Minister of Croatia, Andrej Plenković, the President of Montenegro, Jakov Milatović, and the member of the BiH Presidency, Denis Bećirović. Cooperation of the countries in the region is necessary for the prosperity of the states and the well-being of our citizens. Our people need economic, energy and infrastructural connection, and a key prerequisite for that is building a strong regional cooperation. We share similar values ​​and challenges as a region, and they oblige us to common cooperation and communication among the Balkan countries," PM Mickoski posted on Facebook.

Earlier on Thursday, Mickoski met with the United Kingdom Secretary of State for Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Affairs, David Lammy. The two exchanged opinions on current political developments in the region and Europe, and reaffirmed the need for closer cooperation among European countries in the field of security and energy. 

PM Mickoski, First Deputy PM Izet Mexhiti and Minister of Energy, Mining and Minerals Sanja Bozhinovska are taking part at the EPC summit, hosted by British PM Keir Starmer.
