Mickoski in Valencia: VMRO-DPMNE delegation attends EPP panel on demographic crisis

Skopje, 29 April 2025 (MIA) - A VMRO-DPMNE delegation led by party leader Hristijan Mickoski at a two-day Congress of the European People's Party (EPP) taking place in Valencia, Spain, participated on Tuesday in a panel organized by the EPP on responding to the demographic crisis, a topic that requires urgent attention and joint engagement to ensure a sustainable future for the citizens of Europe.

"The panel covered topics related to supporting mothers, children and families, as well as housing for young people, tax policy, the construction of new kindergartens, reducing emigration and depopulation. The EPP Congress is expected to adopt a special resolution on demography tomorrow," VMRO-DPMNE leader and Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski posted on Facebook.

Earlier on Tuesday, VMRO-DPMNE Vice President Timcho Mucunski, who is part of the delegation, posted on Facebook that the delegation is working on affirmation of national positions related primarily to European integration.

"The need for accelerated integration of the Western Balkans into the EU is imperative for both the region and the EU. Our Macedonian national interests will be protected, our positions will be represented and, of course, we will be an equal part in the gathering of the most powerful political family in Europe," said Mucunski, as cited by VMRO-DPMNE.

The European People's Party, he stressed, is currently the most powerful and influential political family in Europe.

"President Mickoski will deliver an address ahead of the plenary session, but we are also scheduled for many meetings. We will meet with the new Austrian Chancellor Stocker, with the leader of the Albanian opposition Berisha, with SNS leader Vučević, with the chair of the European Parliament Committee on Foreign Affairs McAllister," Mucunski noted.

VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski is heading a party delegation to the EPP Congress 2025 in Valencia, Spain, on Tuesday and Wednesday.

The party delegation includes Vice Presidents Aleksandar Nikoloski and Timcho Mucunski, International Cooperation Secretary Stefan Andonovski, as well as representatives of the Union of Women led by President Zhaklina Peshevska and representatives of the Union of Young Forces.

Mickoski is to address the first plenary session at the congress, VMRO-DPMNE said in a press release on Tuesday. He is also set to hold several bilateral meetings, including a meeting with the Austrian Chancellor and leader of sister party ÖVP, Christian Stocker, as well as with the leader of the Serbian Progressive Party and former Prime Minister of Serbia, Miloš Vučević, the leader of the Democratic Party of Albania and former Prime Minister and President of Albania, Sali Berisha, and other European leaders.

In addition, VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski will attend a dinner organized for EPP leaders.
