Mickoski in Budapest meets with Orban, says support from Hungary proof of friendship

Skopje, 24 October 2023 (MIA) — VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski and his deputy Aleksandar Nikoloski in Budapest, Hungary, had a meeting with Hungarian Prime Minister and Fidesz party leader Viktor Orbán, according to VMRO-DPMNE in a press release.
Meeting participants reafirrmed the excellent and friendly relations between their political parties. They also discussed the country's strategic goals, the release says.
"Mickoski thanked Hungary for its support to Macedonia, pointing out that it was proof of true friendship," it says, adding that the VMRO-DPMNE head also expressed hope that the Hungarian support would continue given that Hungary was taking over the Presidency of Council of the EU in July 2024.
At the meeting, the party leaders reviewed their past cooperation and exchange of experiences that VMRO-DPMNE was relying on in preparing for the next elections.
They also discussed projects and plans that would be implemented when VMRO-DPMNE came to power, the party's release says. mr/
