Mickoski holds meeting with VMRO-DPMNE parliamentary group

Skopje, 1 September 2023 (MIA) - VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski held a coordination meeting on Friday with VMRO-DPMNE's parliamentary group, and later urged in a Facebook post not to have the parliamentary session on constitutional changes delayed, reiterating the position that the party will not accept constitutional changes under Bulgarian dictate and calling for respect of people’s will.

"Today I held a regular coordination meeting with the parliamentary group of VMRO-DPMNE and the coalition. We will not accept constitutional changes under Bulgarian dictate. We are strongly against legal solutions that foresee an increase in fees, higher tax rates that directly affect poverty, we demand that the procedure be no longer delayed and positions abused to further delay the session on constitutional amendments. We demand respect for peoples’ will and interest not to give into demands and make compromises to the detriment of state interests," Mickoski posted on Facebook.

MPs are back to work after the Parliament's summer recess, with sessions of several parliamentary bodies held, and the first new parliamentary session scheduled for September 5. ssh/nn/
