Skopje, 10 December 2025 (MIA) — After the party's recent congress, VMRO-DPMNE leader and Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said there would be changes in the party's leadership by mid-April, followed by a government reshuffle by early May.
"And that would complete the team that would lead in the next parliamentary elections. We expect them to be regular, in the spring of 2028," Mickoski said, adding that the party was ready to defeat their political opponents even in a snap election, should one be called.
Mickoski said he would announce his proposal for the party's new executive committee — which would then call an intraparty election for municipal leaders — after the holidays.
"This is a process I expect will take at least two to three months. It won't happen that quickly, considering the interest we expect to see is great," he said, pointing to "the end of March, the first half of April" as potential deadlines.
"Inevitably, this requires that the next step be reshuffling the government and some state institutions, in the second half of April, until May," Mickoski said. mr/
