Ohrid, 29 October 2025 (MIA) - VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski visited the village of Volino in the Municipality of Debrca on Wednesday where he said he expects VMRO-DPMNE to finish the local elections with “a fantastic figure of 60 mayoral posts won”.

“To this we will add the figure of victories in 59 municipal councils. This is a result that obliges us, but also motivates us to work with more commitment and strength, even though, as a Government, the past 16 months we really worked hard to show that we can do things differently... We don't promise miracles nor are miracles possible, but we believe that humbly and with commitment and honesty, we managed to secure a historic victory at these local elections,” Mickoski said.

Promoting the party’s candidate for the runoff in the Municipality of Debrca, Zlatko Siljanoski, Mickoski said the first round of the local elections has demonstrated a clear distinction about what political option the citizens support.

“I think these elections have showed a clear distinction about what political option the citizens support... When to the result of VMRO-DPMNE's coalition we add the results of the other government coalition partners, in which VMRO-DPMNE played a huge role, then we reach a fantastic figure of over 70 mayors, something unprecedented in independent Macedonia,” the VMRO-DPMNE leader said.
