Mickoski: Early parliamentary elections necessary to get country back on winning track
Skopje, 12 December 2021 (MIA) – VMRO-DPMNE spent four years committed to reforms and transformation. Now, the party is once again on the winning track. It’s the largest political party in the country, with the biggest MP group, most mayors and municipal councilors, VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski said on Sunday, ahead of the start of the party’s 17th congress.
However, he added, despite all this, SDSM is still in power and VMRO-DPMNE remains in opposition a while longer.
“Therefore, I insist on holding snap parliamentary elections, so that the people are properly represented. They voted for VMRO-DPMNE and its coalition at the latest local elections. Poverty is rising, we face issues with energy, electricity prices, economy, rule of law, crime and corruption are becoming more and more present, and the health and education systems are a disaster. The country is in a bad state,” Mickoski, who is running for party leader at Sunday’s congress unopposed, underlined.
We, he added, spent the past four years implementing reforms and transforming the party. Now, Mickoski noted, it’s time to get the country back on the winning track.
