Mickoski: Eagerly awaiting submission of resolution on red lines with Bulgaria, we will present our positions

Skopje, 15 September 2025 (MIA) - Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski says that they are eagerly awaiting the resolution on the red lines with Bulgaria, which the opposition SDSM has been announcing for a month, in order to contribute and present their positions.

“We are eagerly awaiting for the resolution so they can contribute their input. The opposition itself said a united, statesmanlike approach is necessary. We are now expecting SDSM’s resolution, which has been talked about for a month, to finally appear in Parliament, so our party can provide its input,” PM Mickoski told Sitel TV on Monday evening.

He noted that they will first have to see the resolution before providing their input on its content, because, as he said, it cannot be expected that the opposition will automatically accept whatever they submit.

“If that does not happen, then I assume that SDSM, in the absence of an opportunity to impose a topic in public, has been trying with fabrications, lies, but failed. Now they say, ‘let’s build a topic based on a resolution on red lines.’ Fine, gentlemen, please submit it to Parliament. We assume that if you expect the largest political party and coalition to support it, they will have to participate in shaping its content," Mickoski said, adding that it would be immature to think it would be automatically supported just because the opposition believes it has produced such a quality and serious document.

"Considering past experience, I would not agree that VMRO-DPMNE would support it blindly and that we would all be happy. It does not work that way,” he said.

The party is eagerly awaiting the resolution so that a common, statesmanlike stance can be developed on issues important to citizens, including EU integration, he added.
