Mickoski: DUI has become a serious factor of destabilization, country ready to respond to any scenario

Skopje, 13 August 2024 (MIA) - I regret that DUI has become a serious factor of destabilization in the region and Macedonia, I can also regretfully conclude that they can only be a factor of stabilization when they enjoy the privileges from the budget that is filled by the citizens, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said Tuesday in answer to media questions.

The Prime Minister said the Government has additional information over DUI’s plan with which “they want to lead the country to destabilization”.

“The response on the ground, based on the information we have, is very bad, catastrophically bad, since the citizens are aware that the individuals who conspire such scenarios became millionaires through their involvement in politics and they realize that they aren’t credible enough in order to engage the citizens to come out to any type of protests, since they want to protect the capital they’ve gained in these 20 years. On the other hand, there is also information that they are trying to engage people in the neighborhood who would support these protests. But, any protest that is democratic, peaceful is welcome,” Mickoski said.

However, he stressed, in case of violence the country and the institutions are prepared to respond appropriately and protect the territorial integrity and sovereignty of the country.

“That is our duty, and we will do that. We have a plan, we have some information that I wouldn’t like to share publicly, we have located the people who are conspiring such scenarios. Their bank accounts, whether public or secret, have more than seven digits in euros and of course they want to protect those accounts by manipulating the emotions of the citizens. But I trust my fellow Macedonians, Albanians, Serbs, Turks, Vlachs, Bosniaks, Romani, we all want to live in a peaceful, shared and prosperous homeland and support the policies that bring prosperity, and not the policies that bring criminality,” Mickoski said.
