Skopje, 16 March 2025 (MIA) - This is a difficult and very sad day for Macedonia. The loss of so many young lives is irreparable, while the pain of our families, our close ones and our friends is immense. In these moments of deep sorrow, our thoughts are with those who have lost their loved ones. I wish the injured a speedy recovery and strength to the families of the victims to endure this unimaginable loss, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski wrote in a social media post.

In a post on his official Facebook profile, the Prime Minister urged all competent institutions – medical staff, police and local authorities to take urgent measures to aid the injured and support the affected families.

“The Government is fully mobilized and will do everything necessary to deal with the consequences and identify the reasons for this tragedy. During the day, after an assessment of the circumstances by the competent institutions, I will address the public with more information about the steps taken. In these moments of deep sadness, when our hearts are broken by pain because of this horrific tragedy, I urge unity, humanness and responsibility,” Mickoski said.

According to official reports, fifty-one people died and more than 100 were injured in last night's fire in a nightclub in Kochani.
