Mickoski: Customs Administration achieves historic record, sees revenues of over Mden 12 billion in one month

Skopje, 1 August 2025 (MIA) – The Customs Administration has recorded revenues of over Mden 12.6 billion in one month, which is a record in a historical sense, Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski said Friday.

In response to a reporter's question on the Customs Administration's revenues, he said the two main agencies that fill the Budget are the Customs Administration and the Public Revenue Office, adding that together with the Minister of Finance Gordana Dimitrieska Kochoska, they have a personal focus on the work of these institutions.

"The Customs Administration has managed to record revenues of over Mden 12.6 billion, which is a record in a historical sense that has never happened since it was established. Despite certain high peaks in fuels and oil derivatives in the past and despite the average price of excise revenues, which is arguably lower, because they follow the price of oil and oil derivatives, the Customs Administration managed to record more than EUR 10 million more than last year. Because last year, July was the first month of the new management of the Customs Administration, and they reached somewhere close to 12 billion, while this year they exceeded 12.6 or something above that," Mickoski said after Friday's visit to the reconstructed Otolaryngology (ENT) Clinic in Skopje.

As positive news for the Government's work, the PM noted increased revenues of the Public Revenue Office, which, he added, has collected a billion more than the same month last year.

"The same thing is happening in the Public Revenue Office, which has collected a billion more than the same month last year, somewhere around 960 million. In addition, we have a greater net effect by 7-8 percent compared to last year, with the VAT refund being 37 percent higher compared to the same month last year. This means that we are working on reducing gray economy and increasing discipline," said Mickoski.
