Mickoski congratulates CDU on election victory in Germany
- Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski extended his congratulations on the CDU’s win in the Germany’s parliamentary elections.

Skopje, 24 February 2025 (MIA) - Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski extended his congratulations on the CDU’s win in the Germany’s parliamentary elections.
"Congratulations on CDU’s major election victory. This success reaffirms the trust of the German people in the party’s leadership and its core principles - stability, development, and a commitment to the values of European Christian democracy. Let us cooperate for the well-being and prosperity of our people. Europe is seeking change," Mickoski wrote in his congratulatory message shared on his Facebook profile.
According to the results of Sunday’s elections in Germany, the conservative CDU/CSU bloc, led by Friedrich Merz, secured 29% of the votes, ahead of the far-right Alternative for Germany (AfD), which came in second with around 20% support. Chancellor Olaf Scholz’s Social Democrats (SPD) ranked third with 16%, followed by the Greens at 13.5%.
Along with the Greens and the Left, other parties entering the Bundestag are confirmed, while the Free Democratic Party (FDP) and Sahra Wagenknecht’s Reason and Justice Party (BSW) fell below the electoral threshold.
The elections saw a record-high voter turnout of 84%.
