Skopje, 18 March 2026 (MIA) - Prime Minister and VMRO-DPMNE leader Hristijan Mickoski attended Wednesday in Brussels an event marking the 50th anniversary of the European People’s Party (EPP).
In a Facebook post, Mickoski said the anniversary has brought together leaders and friends of the EPP from across Europe.

"Tonight I had the honour of attending the celebration of the 50th anniversary of the European People's Party (EPP), a significant anniversary that brought together leaders, representatives and friends from across Europe. An event filled with strong energy, vision and togetherness, reaffirming the role of the EPP as a driver of European values, democracy and stability. The presence of numerous European leaders gave additional weight and significance to this ceremony. Moments like these remind us of the importance of cooperation, mutual respect and a shared commitment to a stronger and more united Europe," said Mickoski.
The VMRO-DPMNE delegation led by Mickoski in Brussels includes the party’s secretary general Dragan Kovachki and executive committee member Stefan Andonovski.

According to Mickoski, the VMRO-DPMNE delegation in Brussels will also be part of a leaders' summit organized by the EPP. The summit will focus on the economic prospects of the European continent, global challenges, the war in Ukraine, as well as the conflicts across the Gulf and the situation in Iran.
"We will discuss global challenges, and we will also place emphasis on EU enlargement," Mickoski said in a video address shared on his Facebook profile.

On the sidelines of the Congress of the European People’s Party, Mickoski met with his Croatian counterpart Andrej Plenković.
According to VMRO-DPMNE, Mickoski's visit to Brussels will also be used for bilateral meetings with presidents, prime ministers and leaders from the European People’s Party family.
