Skopje, 21 October 2024 (MIA) – Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski delivered a keynote address on Monday at the panel discussion focused on the future of Europe held within 20th Salzburg Europe Summit.

The summit, organized by the Institute of the Regions of Europe (IRE) and the European Congress, gathered around 700 guests and featured over 60 speakers from across Europe. This year, the event marked its 20th anniversary, held under the theme "EU: No future without reforms."

Mickoski posted on Facebook that in his speech, he underscored that the future of Macedonia lies in the European Union, and that along this path, the country has made numerous concessions and steps that demonstrate its commitment to a European future.

“What is lacking is the will, followed by actions, for the region to truly move from the European waiting room towards realizing a European future. The future of the region lies in economic and political transformation and mutual connectivity. We strive to enable the Macedonian companies to go beyond the borders, support exports, and attract foreign capital. In this short period, we have already shown results, and together, we will achieve much more,” PM Mickoski said in his post.

He attended a dinner last night at the invitation of the Governor of Salzburg and the Founder and Chairman of the Institute of the Regions of Europe (IRE), Franz Schausberger.

“I conveyed our commitments and goals regarding Macedonia's European path to my interlocutors. Europe must open its doors to the countries that are moving forward,” Mickoski wrote on Facebook.

On Tuesday, he will meet with the President of Austria, Alexander Van der Bellen, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Alexander Schallenberg.
