Mickoski – Fidan: Strong partnership between Skopje and Ankara, strengthening economic and political cooperation

Skopje, 5 September 2024 (MIA) — Prime Minister Hristijan Mickoski met Thursday with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Türkiye Hakan Fidan for talks on the current political and economic situation as well as North Macedonia's progress to the European Union.
According to an official press release, Prime Minister Mickoski pointed out the great importance of the two countries' economic and political cooperation, stressing the need to deepen it further.
To this aim, meeting participants discussed ways of increasing the participation of Turkish companies in the Macedonian economy through new investments.
Mickoski and Fidan also highlighted, as NATO allies, the importance of regional peace and stability, noting that diplomacy remains key to resolving all conflicts.
"Mickoski stressed that the Turkish friendship was highly important for our country and that the Turkish community made a significant contribution to the social life and economy of Macedonia," the release says, adding that Türkiye was a long-time supporter and friend of the country and there was room to strengthen relations in several areas. mr/
