MFA says it fully respects obligations arising from international agreements, including Prespa Agreement

Skopje, 28 June 2024 (MIA) - The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade issued a press release Friday noting it fully respects obligations undertaken with international agreements whose signatory is the Republic of North Macedonia, including the Prespa Agreement, which, it said, both sides are obliged to implement.

“At the same time, we reaffirm our readiness to make use of all opportunities provided by the Prespa Agreement for further strengthening of bilateral cooperation in all areas of mutual interest. We remain fully committed to the implementation of the European integration process through consistent conclusion and upgrades of the launched reforms for EU membership, as our top foreign policy priority,” the Ministry said in the press release.

The press release comes after the prime ministers of Greece and Bulgaria, Kyriakos Mitsotakis and Dimitar Glavchev raised the issue of North Macedonia’s compliance with the obligations accepted on the country's path to the EU.
