Skopje, 2 September 2023 (MIA) - Health Minister Fatmir Mexhiti voiced support for Friday's activities carried out by the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Skopje and the police at the Oncology Clinic, and expects a swift response from the institutions in terms of the investigation.
"I strongly condemn all attempts or actions, of individuals or groups, who have used discretionary powers and ways of making decisions in their own favor, thus causing irreparable damage to the health and life of patients, citizens and the state. I expect a swift response from the institutions regarding the investigation," Mexhiti said in a written statement on Saturday.
Following instructions of the Basic Public Prosecutor's Office in Skopje and a court order, the police carried out searches at the Oncology Clinic, as well as at two other locations in private apartments in Skopje on Friday.
During the search, police have seized computers, computer data and other documentation, which will be subject to analysis and expert examination.
The operation is carried out based on media reports related to the Clinic's work, the Prosecutor's Office said in a press release on Saturday.
