Mexhiti to attend UN Climate Change conference in Azerbaijan
- First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Environment and Physical Planning Izet Mexhiti is set to attend the 29th United Nations Climate Change conference, more commonly known as COP29, which kicks off on Monday in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku.
Skopje, 10 November 2024 (MIA) - First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Environment and Physical Planning Izet Mexhiti is set to attend the 29th United Nations Climate Change conference, more commonly known as COP29, which kicks off on Monday in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku.
According to the Ministry of Environment and Physical Planning, Mexhiti, who alongside Minister of Energy, Mining and Mineral Resources, Sanja Bozhinovska, will be a part of a state delegation led by President Gordana Siljanovska-Davkova, will participate in meetings with world leaders focused on the Paris Agreement and the goal to raise ambitions for climate action.
The UN Climate Change conference, according to the Ministry, serves as a platform for pledges, commitments and action plans in line with the goals of the Paris Agreement, with participants being heads of state and high statesmen from around the world.
