Memov: Anyone cooperating with DUI cannot be part of the gov't partnership

Skopje, 17 April 2025 (MIA) – ZNAM movement considers anyone who is cooperating with the unreformed DUI, behind open or closed doors, as unacceptable to be part of the partnership consisting also of this movement, ZNAM spokesman Nikola Memov told a news conference Thursday.
Commenting on recent infighting in the coalition Worth It (Vlen), which is part of the ruling coalition alongside ZNAM and VMRO-DPMNE, Memov said developments affecting the partner from the Albanian political bloc is not a threat to the ruling majority.
“The government is stable. ZNAM and VMRO-DPMNE together have a majority of 64 MPs as well as the MPs of the Worth It coalition that support the government,” stated Memov.
ZNAM’s Executive Board held a session yesterday evening to discuss current political developments in the country and the friction in the junior government coalition partner Worth It, saying it is an issue the coalition should deal with on its own.
Cooperation with former, current and future officials, MPs and SDSM members suspected of having been part of organized crime and corruption in the Republic of Macedonia is unacceptable for the Movement ZNAM, according to the party spokesman saying it was one of the conclusions adopted at the session
Asked whether ZNAM will demand that Health Minister Arben Taravari, who was part of the Worth It coalition as part of the Alliance for Albanians (AA), should resign, Memov didn’t respond concretely, referring the matter to the prime minister.
“Involving future developments in the government coalition, the Movement ZNAM believes the matter falls into the jurisdiction of PM Hristijan Mickoski,” he said.
Memov stressed that the government partners have continuing talks and communication that were never suspended. All open issues are discussed as part of the government partnership, according to him.
