Skopje, 17 October 2025 (MIA) – Today is the last day of the election campaign ahead of Sunday’s first round of the 2025 local elections. The political parties, independent candidates and coalitions have until midnight to present their local election programs.

Election silence starts at midnight, which will end until the elections are over. The election campaign resumes on Monday (October 20) in the municipalities where a mayor won’t be elected in the first round. 

VMRO-DPMNE will hold a central rally in Ohrid. SDSM and its coalition will meet with voters in Staro Nagorichane, Rankovce, Kriva Palanka, Kratovo and Kumanovo.

VMRO-DPMNE’s candidate for Skopje mayor, Orce Gjorgjievski will hold a news conference on Friday.

The ZNAM Movement will hold a central rally in Kumanovo.

Levica’s candidate running for Skopje mayor, Amar Mecinovikj will hold a news conference in Sloboda square.

Goran Markovski, independent candidate running for mayor of Skopje, endorsed by the Independent Together platform, and Biljana Ivanovska, independent candidate for mayor of Centar municipality, endorsed by the Independent Together platform, will hold a news conference later today.
