Marichikj-Vigenin: Cooperation at every level and gradual solving of open issues

Skopje, 18 January 2022 (MIA) - It is necessary to expand the field of cooperation between North Macedonia and Bulgaria and to start resolving open issues step by step, it was concluded Tuesday by Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Bojan Marichikj and Kristian Vigenin, Vice President of Bulgaria’s National Assembly. Vigenin is accompanying Kiril Petkov on his visit to North Macedonia.

“Several topics of conversation were opened at the meeting with a focus on cooperation between the two countries and at all levels, as well as the importance of the European integration of North Macedonia for the region,” Marichikj’s office e says.

During the meeting, Marichikj stressed that it is essential to establish close cooperation and communication at all fields and levels.

“In that direction, North Macedonia will start activating the working groups and bodies needed to start a dynamic process of European integration, which should be seen as bridges for further transparent and inclusive cooperation between the two countries,” the press release says.

According to Marichikj and Vigenin, cooperation between the non-governmental sector, the business community and academics is of mutual interest for both countries, which will result in the improvement of the atmosphere between both nations.

Vigenin presented the host of the meeting, Deputy Prime Minister for European Affairs Marichikj, with a gift as a sign of hospitality and friendship, said the press release. dk/ba/
