Skopje, 31 August 2023 (MIA) - Deputy PM for European Affairs Bojan Marichikj visited the St. Panteleimon monastry at Vodno as part of the "We Are Europe" campaign. 

He noted that European funds were invested through the cross-border program with Kosovo for the renovation of the monastery and its surroundings. 

In a statement given during the visit, Marichikj stressed that the Macedonian cultural heritage, the Macedonian identity and the Macedonian language are part of the European heritage and that the EU recognizes, verifies and invests in their protection.

"That makes us part of the European cultural and spiritual heritage, but it also shows that the European Union cares about the preservation and development of the cultural and spiritual heritage not only of its peoples, but also of the candidate countries," said the Deputy PM. 

He called on the public to be proud of our cultural and spiritual heritage, to work on its preservation and to make efforts towards joining the European Union as soon as possible because, he noted, it is ready to invest even more in the protection and development of the Macedonian cultural and spiritual heritage.
