Marichikj, Kyuchyuk urge for cooperation and good neighborliness that bring benefit to both countries

Skopje, 25 January 2023 (MIA) – Deputy PM for European Affairs Bojan Marichikj met Wednesday with Bulgarian MEP Ilhan Kyuchyuk. The two concluded it is important to invest in a future in which the two countries will jointly and sincerely open new opportunities for the two peoples.

“Ilhan and I know that there will always be factors on both sides of the border, and beyond, that want incidents, nationalism, conflicts and going back to the past. But we, together with our citizens, want and strongly advocate for cooperation and good neighborliness that bring benefit to both countries and both peoples and we believe that this option is stronger and will surely prevail in this situation,” Marichikj posted on Facebook.

In addition, Marichikj notes that mutual respect built on European values is the only model for success for current and future generations, and cooperation and mutual respect as models for success are equally necessary for both EU member states and for countries that are on the path to becoming EU members.
