Marichikj: EU to provide EUR 100 million in Macro-financial Assistance to North Macedonia

Skopje, 6 February 2023 (MIA) - The European Commission is today proposing to provide up to EUR 100 million in Macro-financial Assistance to North Macedonia, which once again shows who is standing by the country in these challenging times and amid an economic and energy crisis, Deputy PM for European Affairs Bojan Marichikj posted on Facebook.

“The proposed assistance would contribute to covering North Macedonia's financing needs in 2023 and 2024, supporting both fiscal sustainability and structural reforms. Ursula von der Leyen, Commission President, said:  “We stand by North Macedonia in these challenging times. Today, we propose up to EUR 100 million in Macro-financial Assistance to support the country's economy, contributing to covering its financing needs for the next two years”,” Marichikj’s post reads.
