Skopje, 19 August 2022 (MIA) — The water level of the Vardar river at the Jegunovce benchmark measuring point has decreased since yesterday, dropping below its August average. Its level has increased at two other benchmark points along the river, near Skopje and Demir Kapija, compared to Thursday morning. According to the National Hydrometeorological Service, higher water levels were recorded for the Bregalnica near Shtip and the Strumica near Sushevo. Lower daily readings than their August averages were recorded at the mouth of the Lepenec, the Kriva river near Kriva Palanka, the Crn Drim near Lozhani, and the Pchinja near Pelince and near Katlanovska Banja. The measurements of the National Hydrometeorological Service also show that the water level of Lake Dojran is up, and those of Lake Prespa and Lake Ohrid are down. mr/
