Man from North Macedonia dies in car crash in Greece

Athens, 26 August 2024 (MIA) – A North Macedonia national was killed in a car accident on Sunday near Kilkis in northern Greece, Greek media reported.
The man, 55, was killed when his car crashed in another car, driven by a 44-year-old woman, MIA’s Athens correspondent reports.
Firemen arrived at the crash scene to extract the driver from the crashed car. The man was transported to a Thessaloniki hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
Alongside the 44-year-old woman in the second car, there were also a 38-year-old man and two girls, aged 3. They were all transported to hospital to be treated for their injuries.
A preliminary investigation was launched as it is still unknown what caused the crash.
Greece’s firefighting service said that eight firemen with four vehicles intervened to extract the unconscious man and the injured woman from two cars after an accident in the wider area of Kilkis.
