Man arrested in connection to bomb threats in Skopje schools
Skopje, 2 November 2022 (MIA) - The police arrested on Wednesday a man from Skopje in connection with bomb threats targeting secondary schools in Skopje.
In coordination with the competent prosecutor's office, measures are being taken to clear up the case, Ministry of the Interior (MoI) said.
The Ministry of Interior also said that anti-terror checks have been completed in regard to the received report that nine Skopje schools were sent bomb threats by email and it was determined that they were all false bomb threats.
Around 2:30pm on Wednesday, the Skopje Police received a report that six Skopje schools were sent bomb threats by email, said the MoI, adding that around 3pm the Skopje Police received a report about a similar threat sent to the emails of three more schools.
“Immediately after the report was received, measures were taken by police officers to safely evacuate all nine schools and police checks determined the threats to be false,” MoI said in a press release.
