Skopje, 28 December 2021 (MIA) – Malta opened a consulate in Skopje on Tuesday and named Kocho Angjushev honorary consul. Angjushev was appointed honorary consul with a decree signed by Malta’s President George Vella and has also been approved by the Maltese government. Appropriate approvals have also been granted by the Macedonian government. “I will be my honor and pleasure to serve as honorary consul of Malta, an EU member state. Although small, Malta is an economically developed country from which we can learn a lot. Cooperation and trade with Malta are at a high level and it will be a challenge to enhance economic activities and creating connections with Maltese business in North Macedonia,” Angjushev told the opening. Malta is an archipelago in the central Mediterranean. It has a GDP of over USD 39,000 per capita. Its most developed sectors are banking, IT and tourism.
