Macedonian passport ranked 38th in 2025 Henley Passport Index, visa-free travel to 130 countries

Skopje, 23 July 2025 (MIA) – The Macedonian passport has been ranked 38th in the 2025 Henley Passport Index, and it can be used to travel to 130 countries around the world without a visa. This marks a jump of seven places compared to the 2024 ranking.

In the 2025 list, the country is behind Serbia, which holds the 32nd place; Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Albania are ranked 43rd; Turkey is 46th; and Kosovo is in 61st place.

The most powerful passport in the world this year again belongs to Singapore, whose citizens can enter 193 out of a total of 227 countries without a visa. Japan and South Korea are in second place with access to 190 destinations without a prior visa. Third are Denmark, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Spain, and Finland with access to 189 destinations.

In fourth place, with passports allowing visa-free travel to 188 countries, are Austria, Belgium, Luxembourg, the Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, and Sweden. Fifth place, with visa-free access to 187 destinations, goes to Greece, Switzerland, and New Zealand.

With a British passport, one can travel freely to 186 countries, placing it in sixth position, while the U.S. passport is ranked 10th, allowing visa-free travel to 182 destinations.

The lowest-ranked passport, allowing visa-free travel to only 25 countries, is held by Afghanistan, followed by Syria with access to 27 destinations and Iraq with visa-free access to 30 countries.
