Macedonian and Slovenian businesses appeal for Slovenia support

Skopje, 9 August 2023 (MIA) - The Association of Slovenian and Macedonian Businesses has opened a dedicated humanitarian account at NLB Bank on Wednesday in order to collect donations to help Slovenia, which is facing the consequences of devastating floods that have affected the country.

"Many times in the past, our two countries have helped and supported each other. We all remember the recent raging fires, and the numerous Slovenian volunteers who helped extinguish them. At this moment, we have to show our solidarity as people, economy and state. For this purpose, in accordance with the requests from the Slovenian Government, the Association of Slovenian and Macedonian Businesses has opened a dedicated humanitarian account at NLB Bank," they wrote in a Facebook post.

All donations received will be transferred to the competent institutions and organizations in Slovenia that are actively working within the framework of civil protection.

In the past few days, Slovenia has been facing the consequences of the biggest natural disaster in its recent history. Much of its territory was affected by heavy rainfall and storms that resulted in heavy floods and landslides.
